About Us

"Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion"

Douglas Dance Academy was established in the Corstorphine area of Edinburgh in 1996.

A friendly and successful school where enjoyment, talent, potential and a love of dance is nurtured. Each child will feel inspired through being taught to their own individual needs whether dance is a hobby or a vocation, and all have the opportunity to study for exams, where they consistently achieve excellent results.

We have classes for all ages and abilities in Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Acro and Musical Theatre, starting as young as three and continuing to Higher Dance level, Teaching qualifications and beyond. Many students following their vocation to dance go on to take Diploma and Degree courses in the performing arts at colleges around the UK, including: Laine Theatre Arts, Bird College of Dance, Performers College.

Dance can positively impact a child’s physical, emotional, and mental health. Plus, dancing is a fun way to release energy and excitement! It can create lifelong friendships and making wonderful happy memories.

We want our kids to shine…….

The school’s annual show is a main event in the diary giving Andrea a chance to show off her excellent choreography skills and of course giving the pupils that all important opportunity to perform and have a great time doing it.
